What Could Have Been; Pontunia’s Mistake

Pontunia and Ela’r’oech have been allies historically, however Andrew Perdomo may have sealed Pontunia’s fate. Context? Ela’r’oech and Pontunia have been discussing for some time a union, where the Bayou Sector would be under one unified state. Ela’r’oech finally decided to get it does as an Empire. Ela’r’oech would proceed to make a treaty including four micronations or realms of the Empire.

Andrew would then propose to Pontunia’s Royal Assembly that same treaty. It would garner more support than opposition and would later be passed by the Assembly. Perdomo, however, had other plans. The King of Pontunia would then veto the treaty’s ratification.

What does this mean for Pontunia? Well Pontunia will not be a realm of the Empire.

What does this mean for the Empire? The Empire will just have to remain without Pontunia.

What does this mean for the alliance between Ela’r’oech and Pontunia? We don’t know yet. This may have completely burned the bridges we have all walked and ran across. Andrew’s actions may have completely cemented the slow but sure rise of Neo-Carolusianism and a new era for foreign relations which have nothing to do with Pontunia, Begon, or any of Ela’r’oech’s former allies.

Pontunia has certainly doomed Ela’r’oech in the sense of Ela’r’oech will never be the same. However only time will tell if this will be a good or bad thing.
