Interview: Prime Minister On His Legacy, State Of The Nation

We held an interview with the Prime Minister of Ela’r’oech, Mr. Christoph Billung. ENS will stay in this font, with the Prime Minister set in bold font.

How would you say your opinion on Ela’r’oech has changed since you have been PM this term?

My Opinion of Ela’r’oech has not changed a bit during my last term, in fact if it has, it’s only gotten better.

I am most loyal to the nation of my brethren, and to His Majesty the King.

How would you say your opinion on the King himself has changed this term, if at all?

My opinion of His Majesty has faltered none. I’ve known him for nearly three years now, I think I have seen enough of his behaviour to know the cycles of his antics. We are good friends and I trust him greatly as our Head of State.

After what seemed like weeks of him taking very short breaks which seemed completely random and now his return after his first multi-week break, which he claims to have reignited his passion in micronationalism, do you trust that he will be able to keep the energy he seems to be giving off to keep Elarian citizens at a calm state of mind?

I think that His Majesty is often very exuberant in his endeavours, whether it be for a social media program, a game, etc. He has a brilliant mind and is very capable of doing the things he promises. Now, his mind works very hard for a long period of time and then it gives out after a while. Whenever that time comes again, he will have a reliable government to fall back on.

What factors do you think have led to Ela’r’oech’s activity boost in the past few weeks?

Charles being back, most certainly.

Do you think that this activity boost will be consistent for the coming weeks or even months? what do you think would be most vital to do in order for securing such consistency?

I think it is vital that Charles takes breaks, has a schedule, limits himself to what he knows is productive and does not invest his time nor his energy into things that he knows are unproductive and generally useless. I do think he will be active a good while, yes. Hopefully for the remainder of this year.

What is your opinion on the current system of government? do you think a parliament or representative system would be best for ela’r’oech at this point in time, especially regarding the new realmships which may want some say in the federal elarian government?

A Parliamentary system is always best. We must note that Realms are given the option to send representatives to the federal parliament and my government, and the Elarian National Party, will welcome them with open arms.

How do you think the public has viewed your terms as Prime Minister of Ela’r’oech?

I think the people aren’t really paying as much attention as they should. However I think the ones that know me and have met me whether it be in Discord or out have a very favourable position concerning my terms as Prime Minister.

Do you believe that the Elarian public are government invested, or more invested in the success of the micronation itself, somewhat like an underdog story?

I wouldn’t compare us to an underdog. But I do think the people are more invested in the larger figure, the Monarchy than they are the current administration. In reality, no government, appointed or elected, will be able to break or bend the institutions Charles and I have laid down during my terms as Prime Minister. No government succeeding me will be able to take away the things we have added.

Ela’r’oech at this moment is like a thatched wall. The wood, the clay, the foundation, they are all mixed and blended permanently together. But, by force, someone may destroy it. When they do, however, the rain and the storms will leak in.

With your comments from the last question, how do you think your legacy in Ela’r’oech will shape not only your micronational career but Ela’r’oech’s history as a nation?

I think I have actually made an impact on Elarian History as well as my Micronational Career with my time here, it has become one of my “main nations” as you could say. I focus on Ela’r’oech more than I do most nations. My legacy in Ela’r’oech I think will have a positive mark on my micronational career in general.

With all this said, do you have anything to say regarding the possibility of you running for another term as Ela’r’oech’s Prime Minister?

If I do win the primaries within the Elarian National Party and win my second term as Leader, I will be running for the Ministership and I pray that my dear friends in the ENP do support me in the event that happens.

ENS then thanked the Prime Minister for his time.
