Interview: Attack on Ela’r’oech, Pontunia To Blame

On December 26, Emperor Charles Mevd I bestowed the prestigious Elarian Medal of Good Conduct upon Chancellor Armstrong during a ceremony held in the capital city. The Elarian Medal of Good Conduct is a highly regarded honor given to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and service to the Elarian Empire.

During the ceremony, Chancellor Armstrong was also officially inaugurated as the new Chancellor of the Empire. The inauguration was attended by numerous dignitaries, political leaders, and citizens from across the Empire, who gathered to witness this historic event.

However, the ceremony was briefly interrupted when an individual claiming to be from the neighboring nation of Pontunia attempted to disrupt the proceedings with a knife. The individual was quickly apprehended and arrested by Elarian law enforcement, and the ceremony was able to continue without further incident.

ENS got the first chance to interview the Chancellor.

As is custom at ENS, ENS will be bolded, the Chancellor will be italicized.

What was your first experience of the Empire? When did you first hear about it and what did you think of it?

My first experience was when Charles first started talking about it and kept asking me to join it. He was very adamant that I join [the Empire.]

What was your initial reaction to this?

I told him no at first because I didn’t know [what it was.]

What convinced you to join?

Him explaining it all, and it sounded really cool.

What did it feel like winning the elections for Chancellor?

It was very exciting.

And what did it feel like receiving the medal of good conduct? It sounded like an actual crowd was watching. What did that feel like?

Yes, there [were] some citizens watching and it felt great to see [them] watching.

Chancellor Armstrong being inaugurated by Emperor Mevd. Behind them is Orin Jarell, the member of the Armed Forces who saved the Emperor from attack just a few moments later.

Was the Pontunian attacker in the crowd?

Yes, he had a mask and sun glasses on so I couldn’t see his face.

What did you feel in those seconds when the attack occurred?

A rush of adrenaline, and I kinda froze. I’m glad we had the member of the EAF with us, [as] I believe he was after the Emperor.

Who was that member? Do you know him personally?

Yes, he is a close friend of mine. His name is Orin Jarell.

Mr. Jarell notices the suspicious attacker just before the incident occurs. Jarell would save the Emperor’s life seconds after this image is captured.

The attempted disruption of the ceremony has sparked a conversation about security measures at public events and the need for continued cooperation and dialogue between the Elarian Empire and its neighboring nations. Despite the incident, the ceremony was widely regarded as a success, and the Elarian people remain optimistic about the future under the leadership of their new Chancellor.
