The elections are over. The FEC, yesterday, announced that Shawn West is our new Chancellor-elect, with Andrew Perdomo serving as President-elect. What are the effects of this election?
Well, with the recent results it’s shown a wave of support for the Doylians. Doylians are those apart of the Doyle territory. The Doyle territory is a new, local territory in Ela’r’oech. The Presidential elections saw a collective 36.66% of the popular vote going to Doylians Corbin Olivier and Noah Robinson. The Chancellery elections – of course – led to the win of Shawn West, a Doylian. It should be noted that all electoral votes went to Doylians, though they were also the only ones running in the Chancellery elections.
This is also, notably, the first time we’ve had structured, moderated debates as part of the Elarian elections. ENS and Carolusian Front sponsored these debates to encourage an active participation for politicians and voters alike. The debate on 16 November 2022 was regarding the economy exclusively between Shawn West and Noah Robinson were held around 1:26 PM Elarian Standard Time. The debate on 17 November 2022 involved the recession directly, the military, foreign diplomacy, Alaria, Zeprana, and final notes. A second debate on 17 November 2022 involved the topic of recession, the economy, military force, foreign relations, and Pontunia. This debate would follow a different standard than the rest, with candidates able to rebut and continuously debate about a specific topic together in real time. This would allow for multiple topics to be discussed more thoroughly.
Andrew Perdomo also proved that, though local citizens are showing the obvious wave, an old friend is always sure to remain true in the Elarian government.
